Student Attendance Procedure

For classroom lessons, the student marks their attendance through the fingerprint machine at the front desk at the start of each lesson.

For synchronous e-learning lessons, lecturers will mark the attendance on the online learning platform at the start of the class.

For asynchronous e-learning lessons, the online learning platform will auto record the attendance of the student. For students on trial lessons, they will sign their attendance on the trial lesson attendance.

The teacher checks and signs the attendance at the end of each class.

In the event of absenteeism due to medical or unforeseen reasons, students are required to submit medical certificate or the completed form ‘FRM-024 Application for Leave of Absence’ together with relevant supporting documents to the Student Support Services Department.

Students who are unable to come for lessons on the following day are expected to apply for a leave of absence at least one day earlier, using FRM-024 Application for Leave of Absence Form.

Students can approach their course consultant or any Student Support Services Staff for the form.

Student who does not meet the required attendance rate shall be subjected to disciplinary actions such as counselling.
