Objective

This diploma equips adult learners with practical, job-ready AI skills for the eCommerce sector. It helps bridge the AI skills gap and supports Singapore’s Smart Nation and Digital Economy goals. Students will learn to use AI tools to build, market, and grow online businesses—enhancing both employability and entrepreneurial potential.

Unit 1 Introduction to AI and Its Applications

This module introduces the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including how AI models work, how services are priced, and key ethical and data considerations for business use. Learners will gain an overview of different AI types, practical tools, and responsible practices for using AI effectively and safely.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Differentiate between traditional Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies.
  2. Understand AI service pricing, including token-based usage and model selection.
  3. Describe how AI powers reasoning, content generation, and multimodal applications.
  4. Build and customize simple AI agents for tasks and workflows.
  5. Locate and apply effective prompts using curated marketplaces and libraries.
  6. Compare global AI ecosystem, and understand open-source vs proprietary models.
  7. Recognize key data governance and intellectual property issues in AI deployment.
  8. Apply responsible AI practices, such as disclosing AI-generated content and avoiding misuse.

Unit 2 eCommerce Foundations — Building Business Plan and Channels

This module focuses on using AI tools to develop a practical eCommerce business plan and launch initial sales channels. Learners will map the end-to-end journey of starting an online business, from ideation and validation to store setup and scaling. Through hands-on activities and AI-powered support, they will gain the skills to plan, validate, and build their first digital storefront.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand the eCommerce journey from ideation to scaling.
  2. Use ChatGPT to plan a business model with tools like the Business Model Canvas.
  3. Conduct early product research using platforms like Google Trends and SimilarWeb.
  4. Write a business plan with AI assistance for faster, clearer articulation.
  5. Compare and select suitable sales channels.
  6. Build and launch your first online store or product listing.

Unit 3 eMarketing — Building Your Brand, Content System, and Campaigns

This module focuses on how to leverage AI tools to build a strong brand, automate marketing content creation, and execute data-driven campaigns. Learners will use AI to shape brand identity, generate campaign ideas, produce consistent content, and track performance through intelligent dashboards. The goal is to enhance marketing efficiency while staying aligned with brand strategy.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Define brand identity elements using AI, including value propositions, personas, and visual style.
  2. Automate content systems with AI-generated taglines, tone guidelines, and templates.
  3. Use AI tools for campaign brainstorming, creative generation, and design collaboration.
  4. Track marketing performance using AI dashboards focused on hooks, reach, acquisition, and retention.

Unit 4 Building User Connections — Storytelling, Live Engagement, and Asset Rebuilding

This module explores how advanced AI tools can be used to enhance customer engagement, deepen brand storytelling, and scale communication across borders. Learners will use AI to craft interactive narratives, automate customer service, manage branded content assets, and communicate effectively with international audiences.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Use AI to script brand stories and interactive live experiences.
  2. Set up AI-driven customer support systems such as chatbots and smart FAQs.
  3. Manage and refresh visual assets while maintaining brand consistency.
  4. Apply AI tools (e.g., avatars and translation) for cross-border communication.

Unit 5 Growth — Scaling, Optimization, and Team/Partner Management

This module focuses on how to scale eCommerce operations using AI—from optimizing sales and inventory to managing remote teams and ensuring responsible AI usage. Learners will explore predictive tools, automation strategies, and multilingual expansion techniques, while also learning how to build transparency and trust when deploying AI in customer-facing processes.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Apply predictive AI to optimize sales forecasting and inventory operations.
  2. Implement dynamic pricing strategies and AI-powered personalization.
  3. Use AI to support remote collaboration via SOPs, asset libraries, and project dashboards.
  4. Deploy multilingual tools and best practices for cross-border localization.

Graduation Requirements

Achieve a Pass grade in all units, plus a Pass in the Industry Attachment (IA); where IA is unavailable, Project Work may be substituted as an alternative

Teacher Qualifications

The Committee for Private Education (CPE) is duly notified on all teachers in British Education Centre.  All teachers have the required qualifications. Please refer to our Teachers list in the website for more details.

Progression Pathway

Students who successfully complete the Diploma in Applied AI for eCommerce may consider progressing to higher-level courses in AI-driven digital commerce or advanced AI marketing offered by digital business and marketing institutes.

Entry Requirements

Age and Academic:

Age:   At least 16 years old

Academic:   Minimum 3 Passes at GCE ‘O’ Level or Completion of Secondary or High School or Equivalent

For mature candidates who does not meet the above MER, the candidate must be at least 30 years old with 8 years working experience

Language Proficiency: Pass in Mandarin at GCE C6 Level or High School or Equivalent.
